Our Story: Building Ethical, Authentic Tours in Bolivia

Explore Bolivia with purpose.

More Than Just Tours...

Yapa Bolivia Tours is a woman-owned, locally-led company creating ethical, immersive travel experiences across Bolivia.

Our mission is to design journeys that benefit everyone involved by creating meaningful travel experiences that celebrate Bolivian culture, empower local communities, and protect the places we love.

Founded by Sherezade, a Bolivian tourism professional with a deep love for her country and its people, Yapa Bolivia was born from a belief that travel should give more than it takes. For us, every tour is a cultural exchange, not a transaction.

Whether you’re trekking through the Andes, visiting Amazonian villages, or exploring ancient ruins, we design every experience with respect, purpose, and care. Our tours are crafted with respect, purpose, and connection, so travellers and hosts alike walk away enriched.

Our Story

Born in Bolivia. Shaped by the world. Rooted at home.

Yapa Bolivia Tours was born from one woman’s dream to share the heart of her country through travel that truly matters.

Sherezade has always felt a deep connection to Bolivia. Raised among rich traditions and breathtaking landscapes, her passion for travel began as a local tour guide sharing her homeland with visitors. Later, as a flight attendant based in Canada, she explored the world and gained a broader view of what meaningful travel really means.

But no matter where she went, Bolivia always called her back.

She founded Yapa Bolivia Tours to create more thoughtful, community-based travel experiences that celebrate her country with authenticity and care. Each tour is designed to benefit everyone involved, from travellers, local families, guides, artisans, to the land itself.

This is a family dream. Her husband, Elijah from Canada, brings his experience in NGOs and international development to help drive sustainability. Her father contributes decades of experience as a tour operator and deep local knowledge that shapes every journey. Together, they’re building a company rooted in values, shaped by family, and focused on connecting people through responsible, unforgettable travel.
