Day 1:
Santa Cruz to Chochis

Each day includes light to moderate trekking (1 to 3+ hours), often in warm and humid conditions, so comfortable walking shoes and sun protection are essential.

Accommodations are in simple local cabins and small-town hotels that reflect the hospitality of the region. While not luxury, they provide everything you need for a comfortable rest after a day of exploration. Meals are a mix of local restaurants, packed lunches, and home-style cooking in the towns along the route.

Where is the Chiquitanía and how far is it from Santa Cruz?

The Chiquitanía is located east of Santa Cruz, with the first major town, San José de Chiquitos, about 4–5 hours by road. Distances are long, but the route is scenic and worth the journey.

The treks are light to moderate, typically 1–3+ hours. Trails are mostly well-marked but can be uneven in places. A basic level of fitness and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. We will adjust the pace and sites visited based on the fitness levels of the group.

Yes! Swimming is allowed at Las Pozas, the hot springs river, and some waterfalls near Roboré. Don’t forget to bring swimwear and a towel.
